The engine evaluates complete two-hour windows using concentration-band component severity and the fixed 70/30 score. Choosing running preserves that ranking, so two users looking at the same city and forecast see the same environmental order.
The activity choice changes the caution threshold and explanatory copy. This separates a consistent comparison from individual advice that the product cannot responsibly infer.
Why an endurance activity needs more than one point
A run can span a forecast transition. AirAgora therefore rejects incomplete windows and includes the worst hour in the score. A short clean-looking point cannot hide a sharp change in the next hour.
The result should still be adjusted to your actual duration and route. A model grid cannot describe every roadside, tunnel, trail, hill, indoor track, or smoke plume.

If every practical window reaches the internal poor band derived from provider concentrations, the product says “least polluted available,” keeps caution visible, and links to official guidance. It never turns relative rank into a safe-to-run claim.
During wildfire smoke or another official incident, local public instructions take priority. The modeled grid may lag or smooth a rapidly moving plume.

Confirm the city and timezone, inspect the source timestamp, read the OpenWeather scale and category, compare adjacent hours, and note whether the result is stale or incomplete. If conditions are similar, choose based on logistics rather than false decimal precision.
